What are dragonflies?
Dragonflies are insects of the infraorder of Anisoptera, which is the name of this fanlisting. They generally have two pairs of wings and large eyes. They are not generally considered a "hostile" insect, they only bite or sting if threatened. Dragonflies have been used to help control mosquito and other harmful insect populations. They are found in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes - as large as 19 centimeters from wing tip to wing tip. They can reach an amazing 97 km/h (60 mph) and are the world's fastest insects.
